Electroacoustic and raw, melodic and edgy. Kim Serpent sounds like Beck dancing with Talking Heads and early Soulwax on the dance floor.

The project began as a creative partnership between songwriter Pim Kersten and producer Jan van der Ven, with Kersten steering the artistic vision. Their collaboration led to a signature sound, fully realized on the debut album Back and Forth(2023), mixed by renowned producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor).

Lyrically, Kim Serpent explores themes of identity, change, and self-reflection, all tied together by the symbolic power of the word Serpent—a name that has come to represent healing, danger, and transformation.

Since the release of Back and Forth, Kim Serpent has evolved into a dynamic live project. While Kersten remains the creative force, the band members actively contribute to songwriting, enriching the music both on stage and in the studio.
